Dhammacetiya is a complex of stupas comprising 840 large and small stupas, serving four main roles as follows:
Dhamma Cetiya (Dhamma Memorial Stupa) – Preserves the Tipiṭaka, the Three Pāḷi Baskets in 10 languages, to maintain and spread the valuable teachings of the Buddha.
Dhātu Cetiya (Relic Memorial Stupa) – Enshrines the relics of the Buddha and the Arahants, reminding people of the ultimate goal of their practice.
Paribhoga Cetiya (Memento Memorial Stupa) – Plants the Bodhi Tree, a sacred symbol associated with the Buddha’s enlightenment.
Uddissaka Cetiya (Images Memorial Stupa) – Houses images and statues of the Buddha, helping people to always remember the noble qualities taught by the Buddha.
Additionally, Dhammacetiya serves as a venue for the recitation of the Tipiṭaka, a center for studying and practicing both concentration meditation and insight meditation, and a place for organizing short and long-term meditation retreats for everyone, regardless of skin color, ethnicity, or religion.
