When doing wholesome deeds you should do it with enthusiasm and aim for liberation, Nibbāna. When your mind is inclined toward Nibbāna, wholesome kamma will take you there; and with the mind enthusiastically inclined towards liberation, you will surely be born again in a good place.
When you do good deeds with a fervent mind toward enlightenment, you no longer need to pray for a rebirth in a good place because you are guaranteed. But if you do good deeds with an unenthusiastic and ignorant mind, you will only be born again in the realm of non-greed and non-hatred but lacking wisdom.
