Dear Fellow Friends, Lay Devotees, and Supporters,

 

During our pilgrimage to India to follow in the Buddha’s footsteps, we witnessed many losses and suffering when people were separated from loved ones. We walked through the scorching sun, blinding fog, bone-chilling cold, and biting wind. Every step we took brought us face to face with the struggles of those who were less fortunate, giving us a deeper sense of the impermanence and vicissitudes of existence.

 

Similarly, the people of Turkey and Syria are currently experiencing the devastation of the recent magnitude 7.8 earthquake, losing their lives and homes. Countless families lost loved ones in an instant and are now forever separated. The full extent of the loss of life is still unknown, but stands now at 41,000. The damage to property is difficult to quantify.

 

Ladies and gentlemen,

 

In the spirit of mutual support during times of crisis “whole leaves covering torn leaves,” we at the Huong Tu Foundation urge you, both at home and abroad, to join us in helping to alleviate the suffering of the people of Syria and Turkey.

 

The donation period starts from February 14, 2023, until the end of March 2023.
