📸 A Special Welcome at Jordan Lake State Recreation Area – Day 90 (1/23/2026)
At Jordan Lake State Recreation Area today, we were honored to receive a warm welcome from Jordan Lake State Recreation.
Jordan Lake State Recreation Area Superintendent Brock Martin pinned an NC State Parks pin onto Venerable Bhikkhu Pannakara, and DNCR Secretary Pam Cashwell introduced him before he spoke to the crowd gathered around the visitor center.
We were also deeply touched when they gifted Aloka the Peace Dog an NC State Parks bandana to help keep him warm as he continues the journey alongside the monks. Such a thoughtful gesture of care and kindness for our beloved companion.
Thank you to Superintendent Brock Martin, Secretary Pam Cashwell, and everyone at North Carolina State Parks and Recreation for your gracious hospitality, your warm welcome, and for honoring this journey with such kindness and respect.
