Walk for Peace – Day 3

Day 3 of Walk For Peace – Journey Through the Elements

As dawn arose over Grandview, Texas, the monks began their morning chanting — voices resonating with the cool morning air, carrying blessings of compassion for all beings. With robes flowing and hearts serene, they stepped forward mindfully into the day’s journey.

The chill of morning soon gave way to the searing heat of the Texas sun. Yet, like the Buddha’s teaching of endurance, the pilgrims continued with calm minds and steady hearts. Every step became an act of patience — a reminder that peace is sustained through persistence and mindfulness.

After about nine miles, they paused in Itasca, Texas, where they shared a simple meal in silence, receiving nourishment with gratitude. Renewed, they resumed their walk through the warm afternoon until reaching Pecan Creek RV Park in Hillsboro, Texas, where they rested beneath the vast Texas night. As practitioners of peace, their day closed not with fatigue, but with quiet joy — having walked in mindfulness and goodwill for all.

🌙 As night descended, the monks rested their bodies, preparing for the long day ahead. Tomorrow, they would rise once more to greet the dawn — continuing their journey deeper into the heart of Texas, guided only by faith, simplicity, and compassion.
