For over 2,500 years, offering light in Buddhism has been a heartfelt and practical act. Its primary purpose is to provide physical light to monks and nuns who strive to cultivate their practice in secluded places such as forests, far from the conveniences of urban life. This offering supports them in achieving their spiritual goals and serves as a spiritual anchor for lay practitioners.
Today, offering light has become a tradition, symbolizing sincere devotion to the Triple Gem.
On the occasion of the three major events at Hương Đạo Temple during the International Vesak Tri-fold Celebration in April 2025, from April 25 to May 4, 2025, the Organizing Committee has established a Vesak Light Offering program featuring 24,000 candles. The simultaneous lighting of these candles symbolizes the radiant illumination and far-reaching spread of the Dhamma. This is also an opportunity for everyone to offer heartfelt dedication, cultivate positive thoughts for their loved ones, and seek the blessings and merit of the virtuous guide and protect us, bringing wisdom and compassion to life. Let’s all join hands and share this positive energy!
Join us in offering candles. Each candle is valued at 10 USD. Together, we will create a successful and meaningful grand ceremony!
