“Amidst the Realm of Impermanence”

I visited the land of Mingun, Myanmar,
Where the very first Tipiṭaka Sayadaw once dwelled.
The Mingun Elder, master of the Buddha's words,
Spread the Dhamma’s light to countless corners of the world.

Today I arrive with a heart of deep sincerity,
Paying homage to him — and to the ruins steeped in sorrow.
His statue lies broken, limbs and head all shattered,
Brushing off the dust, my heart aches beyond measure.

I grieve for this land — and all who bear its burdens.
May noble Dhamma spread wide and far.
May Mother Earth no longer sow seeds of fury,
But bring this world both stillness and peace.

Though I know this life is but a fleeting dream,
Arriving in silence, then leaving in haste —
Like drifting clouds dissolving into the unknown,
Only loving-kindness remains in this sacred human realm.
