Day 6 Mutti – Blossoming and Withering Flowers
Beneath the green canopy, a white flower quietly blooms and then withers away — like a gentle reminder of the impermanence of life.
So too is the cycle of rebirth. From the moment we are born, this body grows day by day, ages, and eventually decays — like a flower that blooms at dawn and withers at dusk. Even though it carries the name Mutti — meaning “liberation” — this conditioned body still cannot escape the natural law of birth and death.
Liberation does not mean escaping impermanence, but rather seeing impermanence clearly and no longer clinging to it. When we understand that everything arises due to conditions, and that nothing is truly “me” or “mine,” then the dissolution of this body is merely a return to the nature of Emptiness, where there is neither birth nor death.
Therefore, the wise live mindfully in every moment, reflecting on the changes in each leaf, each flower… to truly see that:
"Letting go is the path. And peace only arises when we stop holding on."
