Walking without leaving footprint

We were taught to walk from a young age by our parents, starting with the first few baby steps. Since then, how many steps have we taken in life, and have we ever contemplated them thoroughly? Now is the time for us to practice walking step by step on the Eightfold Path according to Buddha’s teachings.

…. When the foot is lifted, the mind notices the lifting; When the foot shifts, the mind notices the shifting; When the foot lowers, the mind notices the landing, and so on. In every moment of walking meditation, only the attentive mind closely notes each step in the present; no state of mind of discursive thinking, greed, anger, or delusion arises. Walking like this is called walking without leaving footprints.
